2024 - 2025 PR-COIN – Arthritis Foundation Quality Improvement Education Program for Pediatric Rheumatology Fellows

The Pediatric Rheumatology – Care and Outcomes Improvement Network (PR-COIN) and the Arthritis Foundation are excited to announce a quality improvement (QI) education opportunity for current pediatric rheumatology fellows. Targeted to those in their first and second year of a fellow program, this opportunity brings progressive QI learning, application of skills, and QI project mentorship together to advance improvement projects and develop crucial QI knowledge, skills, and abilities. This opportunity is designed to develop pediatric rheumatology trainees to become thoughtful and inclusive improvement leaders.

The PR-COIN – Arthritis Foundation QI Education Program for Pediatric Rheumatology Fellows is a year-long quality improvement training program designed to support up to 6 rheumatology trainees in advancing QI skills. Fellows will gain QI knowledge and apply learned skills directly through local and/or PR-COIN network-wide improvement projects. Participating fellows will present their work at a PR-COIN Learning Session (or other PR-COIN meeting depending upon logistics and best fit for the QI project) at the end of the program, with travel support included. It is expected that fellows will submit project-derived abstracts, poster presentations, conference/learning session presentations, and/or peer-reviewed journal articles.

This program provides fellows with an excellent opportunity to gain critical QI skills valuable in advancing improvement activities and developing leadership skills beneficial to overall career advancement.
